How to get there:

By boat:

Oslo has daily direct ferry connections from a.o. Denmark (København, Hirtshals, Fredrikshavn) and Germany (Kiel).

By train:

A favorit train connection from central Europe goes through Hamburg and Gothenburg (Göteborg).

By car:

Apart from the ferries mentioned above, there are several sailings a day from Sassnitz (Rügen) to Malmö in Sweden, from there it is a daytrip further north.

By airplane:

There are plenty of connections from virtually every major town on earth via Scandinavian Airlines SAS (www.sas.com), Lufthansa, KLM, Air France, etc.

As far as Europe, you might consider an online booking with one of the Low Fare companies (often less than 50 Euro one way):

Often your best choice is Norwegian Airlines (www.norwegian.com)

They are often as cheap as Ryanair while offering the same comfort as Lufthansa and SAS (and being more flexible in the booking procedures).
